Website user testing, by definition, tests different groups of users on natural tasks as they navigate a site. After these are conducted, experts review the information by performing heuristic analysis of the websites to discover areas of improvement on the website. Additionally, tablet and mobile phone testing is conducted to determine usability factors. Specialised eye tracking devices allow testers to see what the customer sees. This offers a glimpse into what is most viewed, and for how long. Methods are used to analyse what makes users the most frustrated and engaged as they navigate through a site.
The structure of a website is critical to its success. Consider how frustrating it would be to try to buy an item, only to find out that the purchase option is not legitimate! Usability issues must be discovered and fixed as soon as possible. Wireframe solutions allow new website structures to take place quickly and efficiently. Job lists are created once usability research is completed. A workshop is a highly important aspect because it allows website owners to go ahead and implement the new strategies and changes. Card sorting involves allowing users to categorise website content on their own, or into previously made categories. This provides insight into how users sort information once they encounter the different web pages. It allows you to make adjustments so that the sorting process goes by much quicker.
Persona analysis is another way to gain information about a particular customer base, and it is the prerequisite for user testing procedures. Once website owners can define who their customers are, they can make changes to the site according to the ways in which the customers see it. Usability is increased when customer needs are met. Their entire experience becomes much more enjoyable as a result. Quality website interaction provides a much better chance for higher Google search rankings as well. Valid and usable websites have the potential to achieve a much higher search engine ranking over time.
